What We Offer Through the Lifespan
We provide children, youths, and adults an opportunity to explore, reflect, and learn in a nurturing spiritual community. Our Religious Exploration programs encourage
- Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion, and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life.
- Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level. Finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial.
- Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us.
Religious exploration programs for children and youth include more than classwork–singing, discussion, arts and crafts, working in our garden, field trips, scientific projects, service projects, and often fun. They are led by our Director of Religious Exploration and by volunteers, guided by our Religious Exploration Council. Children’s religious education programs are typically offered during our Sunday worship service.
Our Adult Religious Education Committee and minister lead programs for adults. Other members of the congregation sometimes share their own enthusiasms. Teaching can be a very fulfilling way to deepen one’s own faith and knowledge. Adult programs are usually offered on afternoons or evenings.
