Religious Exploration for Children
Children’s FUNShops and Programs
People of all ages begin together in the main sanctuary. After a story for the young and young-at-heart, children and youth leave the sanctuary for Religious Exploration. The youth head to SKY (Starr King Youth) in the conference room. The children go to a FUNShop, an activity led by members of our community that ties in with the theme of the worship service.
Past FUNShops have included:
- Social justice projects
- Singing
- Learning about the fall harvest
- Art projects
- Nature walks
Upcoming funshops are listed here.
Once a month, we stay together in the sanctuary as an inter-generational community. Using story, song, and ritual, these services engage the whole family in worship together. Please see our worship schedule (link?) to see when the next inter-generational service is being offered.
We provide nursery care for infants and young toddlers every Sunday, including the intergenerational services.
Babies, children and youth are always welcome to remain in the sanctuary for the entire service.
A few times a year, we have celebrations or events after the service and during the week for children and families. Please see our Calendar (link?) to see our upcoming celebrations and events.
If you have questions or would like more information about programming for specific ages, email dre@starrking.org or the church office at 510-581-2060.
