Religious Exploration Director’s Message
Greetings,
Starr King UU Church is a community of all ages! You and your family are welcome here. Our values teach us to honor beauty and diversity, cherish human and non-human life and greet the world with open minds and hearts.
Unitarian Universalism believes in a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This is why we talk about both religious education and exploration. Our goal is spiritual growth within a loving and respectful community. We teach our children about our Unitarian Universalist roots and identity; our Jewish and Christian heritage and the gifts of the world’s religions; and most importantly, we help our children develop a sense of urgency about working for justice and a belief in their own power, as individuals and as a community, to create change.
People of all ages begin together in the main sanctuary. After a story for the young and young-at-heart, children go to a religious exploration program of learning and doing that nurtures and stimulates our children’s spiritual and personal growth, and teaches the principles that unify us as Unitarian Universalists.  Monthly we stay together in the sanctuary as a multi-generational community.
We also provide nursery care. Babies, children and youth are always welcome to remain in the sanctuary for the whole service.
Families and people of all ages are invited to join us on Sunday mornings in our religious exploration. If you have questions or would like more information about programming for specific ages, contact the church office at 510-581-2060.
