South Hayward Parish

Starr King Unitarian Universalist Church is a member of South Hayward Parish, a coalition of congregations providing a variety of social and educational services in the South Hayward community.

Starr King Unitarian Universalist Church collects food items for donation in the food basket in our church lobby. Food donations of all kinds are welcome and appreciated (but please no top ramen).

We also need food donations.  The following is a list of our most needed food drive items:

• Canned meats, chicken  and fish
• Beans or canned chili
• Powdered milk
• Oatmeal and low-sugar cereal

Monetary donations are always appreciated.  Because SHP can buy in bulk from special suppliers especially for food pantries, they can stretch a dollar far. You can donate online here.

The Day Labor Center is a project of South Hayward Parish. The Day Labor Center helps day laborers get work with decent pay in an organized fashion, and without waiting for hours and days under the sun. The Center may also offer health and other social services. Provides day laborers in need of work for various jobs. Learn more at the Day Labor Center web site.

ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. CELEBRATION

Each year, Starr King Church and other members of South Hayward Parish hold a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade in Hayward.
