Guidelines and Tips for Crafting Announcements for the Sunday Bulletin and Website
- The weekly deadline for announcements is Wednesday at 10 a.m. Please email them to office@starrking.org.
- Do not send attachments to your email. Type your announcement into the body of your email.
- The first line of your announcement will be the “headline” (bolded and underlined), so consider what it is you want to announce.
- The shorter your announcement is, the more likely it is to be read and understood. Announcements should be brief and to the point, not “chatty.” Announcements may be edited.
- Assume your announcement is being read by a first-time visitor to church. Spell out acronyms. Explain why your announcement is important.
- Please include a contact name and email address or phone number at the close of your announcement. (This will not be posted on the website but will be available to people who contact the office to ask for more information.)
