UU “App” for smart phones

 If you have an iPhone or an Android-based phone, you can get the UUA’s app Illuminations. It has over 350 inspirational words, a cool chalice lighter with several chalice options, and a 7 Principles Guide in English and Spanish, along with examples of the principles in action. http://uua.org/illuminations has more information and download info.

Religious Exploration Teacher Training Saturday 9/29

  9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  What and how do we teach our children in UU religious exploration? What are UU ways of teaching?  Join Director of Family Ministry Darcy Baxter this morning to build community, have fun, and learn about how to be a UU teacher, guiding children in their spiritual and moral development!

Heist: Who Stole the American Dream? Showing This Sunday

Starr King Church is hosting a screening of this documentary, which looks at problems in our political system. 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Castro Valley Library, 3600 Norbridge Ave. Free, but donations are appreciated, with proceeds going to South Hayward Parish. Co-producer and director Donald Goldmacher will lead a discussion after the screening.
