As the winter holidays approach, many of us have visions of the way things “should” be: how our families should behave, how elaborate the food should be, what our homes should look like, how thoughtful the gifts should be. We put so much pressure on ourselves to achieve some idea of perfection that we sometimes forget what the winter holidays are about: gratitude, relationship, and hope for the future. Let’s reflect on the ways we can welcome imperfection into our holiday plans this year.
