Why Boycott “Home Deport”?
Immigration raids at Home Depot occur almost daily. Home Depot should be a place where everyone can buy what they need to make their homes safe, secure and beautiful. Instead, it has become a place of fear – a target for ICE operations against immigrant communities and workers.
Home Depot keeps quiet on immigration raids outside its doors.
ICE Presence in Parking Lots: Activists have accused Home Depot of being complicit in immigration raids and kidnappings targeting day laborers and immigrant customers in their parking lots.
- Surveillance: Groups like the National Day Laborer Organizing Committee claim the company has increased surveillance, including license plate readers, that may assist federal agents.
- “Home Deport”: If there’s a company most caught up in the Administration’s immigration crackdown, it’s “Home Deport.” Yet the company has remained silent while raids continue to unfold on its lots.
In fact, Home Depot has politically supported the Administration’s use of ICE to terrorize communities of color regardless of anyone’s immigration status.
Rollback of DEI Policies
After supporting Diversity, Equity and inclusion policies for years, Home Depot has scrubbed any mention of DEI in its policies.
We are calling on Home Depot to take a stand
- Denounce ICE raids on their properties.
- Forbid ICE from using their parking lots as staging for abducting people of color.
- Declare their stores safe spaces.
- Protect the people who make and shop in their stores every day.
