Please join us on Saturday, December 14, at 5:00 PM to celebrate our annual Las Posadas Christmas event. This is a beloved Latin American tradition that today reminds us to be in solidarity with all people suffering family separation and seeking refuge from violence.

As a Unitarian Universalist congregation committed to immigration justice, we take this opportunity to live into our values.

Weather permitting, we will walk a couple of blocks around the neighborhood singing Christmas carols in English and Spanish, we’ll knock on the doors of a couple of previously arranged friendly neighbors, and ask if there’s room at the inn. They will pretend to be rude to us and say that there’s no room at the inn. We will then return to the church singing carols and this time when we knock on the door, we will be welcomed warmly and invited to a delicious community meal with more singing, games for kids of all ages, and most importantly, an opportunity to feel connected as a community committed to social justice.

This year our dear friend Mayerling, who is living in Sanctuary at the Eden United Church of Christ, will be making delicious Nicaraguan tamales. Let’s support her and her family during this Holiday Season.

If it’s raining, we’ll just move the party indoors! Also, if you would rather not do the walk, you can join us for the meal and fun games at 6:00 PM. Everyone is welcome! Free event! Bring a friend!
