Easter & Flower Communion

As Unitarian Universalists, we recognize that our liberal faith is historically and spiritually rooted in Christianity. Therefore, many of us celebrate Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus, while some of us celebrate the more metaphorical kinds of resurrection: the rebirth of nature and the resurrection of dreams and hopes. Hallelujah for both! The Flower Ceremony, sometimes referred to as Flower Communion or Flower Festival, is an annual ritual that celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community. Everyone is invited to take a selfie with a flower to include in a slideshow that will be shown during the service.
