Covenant & Conflict

A dialogue between Rev. Maria Cristina and Mileva Saulo Lewis, Vice-President of the Board of Trustees.

Covenants are promises that we make together to affirm to us and the world who we are and what we believe. Covenants, like creeds or mission statements will not eliminate conflicts. Rather, these statements should provide the foundation for our living tradition which is strong enough to acknowledge and withstand our differences.  Why –  because the “we” of us is more important than the “me.” This homily will explore the nature of covenants and how the transition with an Interim Minister can be used to explore the values of the “we”, the needs of the “me” and how we move together toward our shared future.
