Fun lay-led service featuring music from the award winning smash hit musical Hamilton. There will be two short sermons by Bob Simoni and Dave Middleton that will give context to the story and attempt to show how the messages of those times can be interpreted through a UU lens.
Come relive memories from the Summer of Love 50 years ago. In this non-traditional church service, we’ll intersperse both sung and recorded music from the era, including the musical Hair and the Mamas and Papas. Instead of a sermon, we’ll have short presentations by people who came of age during that time, including one person who lived on Haight St. in 1967 and another person who regretfully passed on going to Woodstock. The UU principles set forth our relations with other persons. How do they apply to our relations with animals, especially our pets. Pets give us unconditional love. This lay led service will explore how we have included animals in our everyday lives.
